First off don't believe the media. Egypt has not gone crazy, and I am in no danger. Now moving on. I am going to hopefully be getting a job shortly, and I am going to go look at apartments today. Havent seen much of Alexandria as the protest have kept museums closed. No tourist I guess so no reason to open :( I did however see the castle where the king lived, and it was very nice.

Very excited. Hopefully I will get a job and an apartment soon :) Staying with my friend Samy and his parents. Staying safe

Been in Egypt for 2 weeks, and have been from the southern tip to cairo and soon all the way to Alexandria!
Have been to over 12 sites! Went to the Egyptian museum twice so far, and have been on boats on the nile 3 times! I am really enjoying my stay in egypt!

Check out my Egypt file to get a break down of my trip with pictures!

Vienna was a blast I liked it more then Budapest. Ate lots of strudel and chocolate! Went to see the Lipizzaners at the Spanish ridding school, and took a carriage ride around vienna. Saw the natural history museum and the famous venus statue. Then saw the Habsburg palace and the summer palace. Went into the rooms occupied by Marie Antoinette inside the summer palace. Was a good trip

Going to Vienna this weekend! So excited! Also going to the Budapest Opera tomorrow night.

Budapest is cold! I cant believe I leave in 2 weeks! Bought my ticket to egypt going to be there Halloween night. Alex leaves wednesday for Morrocc

Went to the Budapest zoo the other day, and it was amazing. It is the second oldest zoo in europe, and it has a ton of animals. The funniest/scariest part of the zoo is that some of the Animals run free. So that means you can actually touch them. This includes bush babies, lemurs, sloths, birds and some other little animals. Its crazy! I had a ton of fun though, and I got TGI Fridays after so it was a good day :)

Realized I was convincing myself I didnt miss Greece in my last post. "so it's nice" "so it's really nice" etc.....haha kind of funny. Anyway I miss Greece A LOT! Budapest is nice though its fun to be back in a city where you can go shopping in a mall! The hostel is fun I really like everyone, and it is easy work just cleaning. I am going a little crazy, because the buildings block out most of the sky. So you feel kind of trapped and stir crazy, but I did find a huge park on an Island in the Danube so its bearable. I went to a holocaust museum (my first ever), and it was terrible (not in the terrible as in holocaust). I had a head ache half way through from reading in low light, and there was just pictures and paragraphs. Oh well. I did enjoy going to a medieval church. Its one of two in the city, and it was so beautiful inside. Very peaceful as well.

I finally made it to Budapest! After sitting in the Athens Airport for 20 hours I finally got on my plane and made it to Hungary. The hostel is nice, and for an hours work I get a free bed so it works out nice. Plus lots of interesting people form all over stay here so its nice. One of the owners and one of the staff are also American so its really nice. The owner is like a younger version of my dad which makes for fun debates in the hostel.
I learned that Budapest is actually two cities (Buda and Pest). :) I have had fun hanging out with my friend Tiffany from nevada, and I have seen some pretty amazing architecture. Tomorrow I am having lunch with this old Hungarian who owns breweries in America and Japan. He decided I should marry his son, because he doesn't like his sons wife haha. It will be interesting we are going for traditional hungarian food.

Went to Syros Island, which is the center of the cyclades. It was beautiful! Looked like a little french village sitting in the Aegean. Rained for the first time since I have been here, which was a pleasant escape from the heat. Finally got my passport back from the Naxos Police (my visa was extended). Has a nice little visa on the inside, which makes me feel important.

Only one more week left in Greece! Then off to Budapest!

Some greek words I have learned (note they are not spelled right just phonetically)
